labwc will become the default on all models of pi in the near future.
Currently it is opt-in and can be enabled though raspi-config.
I'd say it's currently (open) beta, but usable for most people and close to release.
There are regular apt updates which are fixing and tweaking labwc (which is now the main focus of desktop development).
Feel free to report issues here
