I have a raspberry pi 5 running Debian and am having some problems with the display output. when I boot there is some Linux output that includes red glitch text. After a few moments the screen goes black and when it comes back the output looks normal. This is with dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d
When I use emulationstation there is a flash at the beginning of playing any game for about 2 seconds where the game is continuing to advance but the screen is black. The Emulationstation menu itself also has the red glitch problem.
I think it is related to vc4 because when I disable it everything is glitched out and the display is never normal.
Any idea what is going on or other settings I should try?
