I think my main issue is with wifi on 2 Pi Zero 2 Ws and suspect that it could be due to a power issue. All the network connections I mention are through wifi, unless I specifically say otherwise.
I got a Pi Zero 2 W to use as a test for 3D printer control. I got one as part of a Vilros starter kit, including their power supply and set that Pi up in my house, then took it to my barn (which has a different wifi mesh, although house and barn are on one LAN, connected by fiber - they're far enough apart there is no overlap in wifi). I noticed one issue with OctoPrint where I would often lose the webcam stream. Reloading the page would get it back. I also often use ssh to connect to my Macs and Linux systems. Sometimes I have an ssh connection open all day and never have an issue with them. I could use ssh on it while it was on the house and on the barn wifi. So when I first got this one (call it PiA), it worked and the only issue I had was it losing the webcam stream periodically.
Today I ordered another 02W, but instead of ordering a regular power supply, and since I'll be printing the case for it, I ordered this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09M9FNQP6?ps ... ct_details). From what I've read, a 02W without much on it uses about 350mW. (https://github.com/raspberrypi/document ... plies.adoc) A 2 amp power supply seems to be recommended. Since all but 2 of the connectors on this power supply are 2.4 amp, I figured it would work. (Eventually I'll be adding more printers and figured it would save money to go with a USB power supply/charger like this instead of a separate power supply for each one.) I've seen other sites that also indicate a 2 amp power supply should be enough for a 02W.
When I got the second 02W (call it PiB), I hooked it up in my house (again, separate wifi from the barn, where PiA is) and used the USB charger as a power supply. It wasn't long before I found that my ssh connections kept breaking, with the message. It's been years since I've seen this as an issue. But, at the same time, I found I was having the same problem with PiA, even though it was using the wifi in the barn. My ssh connections with BOTH Pis were now not lasting longer than 10 minutes. Often they'd go bad in 2 minutes. Since both are using different wifi meshes, I don't see how one could interfere with the other. (Also note that sometimes the ssh connection fails so quickly that it took me several attempts to connect, run raspi-config, set the wifi country, and exit raspi-config and restart the Pi
Is there a problem with using this charger as a power supply for a 02W? Are my power numbers off? Should I be using a more powerful power source? And could the power issue create a problem with the wifi signal being too weak? Is there something else I should be checking that could fix this issue?
