Hi njh,
thanks for your comments on my issue.
I have this vga adapter: https://www.amazon.de/Reland-Sun-Gert-V ... B099DTJGQB
I remember the pinout has "gaps" between the RGB channels and I think I need the padhi parameter because of this.
Regarding the high horizontal resolution: The CRT is a Sony Trinitron which has a strip mask instead of a shadow mask, so the horizontal resolution is virtually unlimited. I was hoping to push it even higher with the Pi 5![Wink ;-)]()
Nevertheless, your "silly" question if it is plugged in correctly made me think. Actually I am using a new gpio extender cable with the Pi 5, the old one is still plugged in the Pi 4.
I'll double check the cable with my multimeter tonight, maybe the new one is faulty...
And finally I found this: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/issues/6505
If it's not the cable I'll try the latest kernel version...
Peter
