I have seen the Pico W and 2W lose networking packets and stall at times, suspect there are some issues with MicroPython, CYW43 drivers, or LwIP, but don't know what, don't think anyone has got to the bottom of that.

This is straight C and sdk:cyw43 and LWIP so I don't think MicroPython is involved in my failure case.

Make sure you have disabled low power operation for the CYW43 as that can sometimes cause issues, will at least remove one potential issue. It might be the reason you cannot ping once it goes off-line, while a continual ping keeps succeeding.

I don't know how to disable cyw43 power operation... But why would the other AP work fine for external accesses, all I do is power on one or the other to see the failure? I wonder if the new netgear AP has some kind of low power operation mode? I will try to find out.
