Use apt update and apt full-upgrade. Only use rpi-update if you have encountered a specific problem and a Pi Engineer has advised it.So what is the "official" way to do it? Should I run rpi-update or not?
rpi_update install the latest versions of things like the kernel, firmware, and bootloader that are still undergoing testing. There used to be a big warning when you run it that it can break things.
