Thanks. The field was empty. I wonder if it defaults to xterm.If you look under Edit→Preferences→Advanced in pcmanfm, the terminal emulator command should normally be set to x-terminal-emulator %s.
Following the chain of symlinks I find that:
x-terminal-emulator -> /usr/bin/x-terminal-emulator -> /etc/alternatives/x-terminal-emulator -> usr/bin/lxterminal
So my xterm symlink is going to what is currently the correct executable. I'll try deleting when I have more time.
