did you test the usb flash drive with raspberry pi diagnostics ?
put raspberry os desktop on the usb flash drive and boot. use raspberry pi diagnostics to check it is fast enough to run a os.
kms in bookworm is picky about monitors with bad id's
but if raspberry os desktop works then that shouldn't be an issue.
