More cores is usually A5x series (or whatever it now called) for 'efficient cores', not using more A7x
or often you will see 1 fast, 3 clocked down fast and 4 efficient or similar arrangement.

I assume you're meaning a single type of core though. 8x full fast cores.
I think capacity-style single-core jobs could benefit from big-little type core arrangement. However, sometimes the little cores get in the way of the big cores and slow down access to the memory bus. The result can be less single-job throughout when all cores are running.

For the current Pi design the existing four cores are already so fast that memory speed becomes a bottleneck. For example, this is why fake NUMA zones improve performance.

Scaling up the memory subsystem to support 8 cores might cost more than multiple 4 core pies.
