To use a RPi, you need a power supply, & usually, a keyboard & mouse, plus a monitor/screen.
Laptop HDMI ports are output only, & I don't think any laptop will power a RPi - at least, mine wouldn't when I tried.
Mine do. At least for the zero series. A zero only needs ~100mA and a USB port has to be able to supply at least that much. 150mA for a zseroW, 350mA for a zero2W. All well within the limits imposed by USB 2 (and 3).
